We selected the name Changing Stories because instead of changing a child, we seek to change their outcome or their story. So many parents have come to me with their “story” about how autism has impacted the life of their child. Our goal is to make sure each child or adult is successful and has the life they desire. We want to provide each adult or child and family the tools they need to overcome the challenges that autism may present and embrace all the characteristics that make their child special and unique.
We promise to walk with your family through both hardships and triumphs in the life of your child. We ensure individualized care that considers your family structure, culture, and other unique needs. We promise to help you find the best fit in ABA therapy and other services for your family and stage of life. You will be actively involved in treatment and consultation and we will abide by the ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
My name is Elizabeth Hewatt. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Midwestern State University in 1997. In an effort to understand and help my own children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I went to graduate school and earned my Master of Arts in Special Education with emphases in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University in 2014. I have been working as a BCBA since 2014. I managed my own clinic in Kansas (2014-2019) and have worked for several clinics within the Houston area (2019-2022). I am a licensed teacher in the state of Texas, a
QBS Safety-Care Behavioral Safety Trainer and Family Trainer, and an ACE provider. I have worked with autistic individuals from ages 18 months to 22-years old. My goal is to provide ethical services to families in order to make a socially significant and functional change in the person’s life through the use of ABA therapy, principles of behavior, and/or parent consultation.
My name is Theodore (Trey) Robinson. I began my journey in the ABA field working as tech support for an in-home company before eventually switching my focus to becoming a RBT once I moved down here to Texas. I worked as a RBT for 4 years while I graduated with bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis from UHCL at the end of 2021 and then a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with specialization in Organizational Behavior Management in 2024. I have worked with ages from 2 years-old all the way to the adulthood in both clinical and in-home settings. I am a big believer in fostering independence for the clients I work with as well as making sure that caregivers are involved every step of the process.
My name is Sarah Schroeder. I earned my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Houston in May 2017. During my time pursuing my teaching certification, I attended a training session focused on understanding autism and creating inclusive classroom environments. This experience introduced me to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Intrigued, I delved deeper into the field and began my career in ABA in January 2021. I have worked in both clinical and in-home settings and worked with children from 2 years old to adulthood. I received my graduate degree in ABA with an emphasis in Autism in December 2024 from the University of North Texas. My goal is to improve the quality of life for children with autism by fostering independence and equipping them with the skills necessary for them to comfortably participate in essential activities. I strive to build strong partnerships with families, maintain transparent communication, and work together toward shared goals to support the child’s growth and development.
